INTERMISSION 2:
UNEDITED
INTERMISSION 2: ...And I am at Awe (Eunie: The word used here “Awe” can be translated or it can either mean awe or fearsome) “Your Highness, Stayle!! These are the next goods to be transferred!!” “Your Highness, Stayle!! I brought the bandages and medicine that was requested a while ago” “Your Highness Stayle!! Please don’t hesitate to tell us if you need anything!!” As the knights continuously bring in the necessary supplies, Stayle teleports them without breaking a sweat. I did think of stopping him, in case there’s even a hint of fatigue from him but it seems like it is all good as long as he doesn’t exceed the set weight limitations. Seeing him use his ability made me feel in awe once again while at the same time realizing how useless I am. I only asked Stayle. I still haven’t done anything. Right now all I can do is look at the Vice-Captain Clark who gives out order and Stayle as he continually delivers supplies. To be honest, I feel worried if the knights start thinking that I’m only a bother and a useless first princess but they seem to look at me from time to time as if I’m some fearsome being and so when I ask them, “Is there something wrong?” then they’ll just fiercely shake their heads and immediately look away. I wonder what’s up? I wonder if I’m already shrouded by the atmosphere that a scary queen has. “Your Highness, Pryde-sama...for what you did today, Please let me express my gratitude for I am truly thankful from the bottom of my heart.” As soon as he was able to send off the reinforcement, the Vice-Captain looked at me and bowed his head. “No. It’s too soon for you to say your thanks. Besides as embarrassing as it is, I really haven’t done anything. But if you really want to thank someone, you should thank Stayle.” After refusing the Vice-Captain, he still didn’t let up as he said, “Of course it isn’t like that. This is all thanks to Pryde-smaa and of course as soon as things have calmed down a bit, I will personally give my gratitude to Stayle-sama but please let me give my regards once again to you, Your Highness, Pryde-sama.” And just like that as my eyes wandered over the screen where the battle is happening, somehow I couldn’t help but feel the eyes of the knights near me. “As expected, the impression that I have of the knights isn’t really good…” Though it's true that compared to three years ago, the rumors about me being a selfish princess have lessened quite a bit but there are still places here and there were bad rumors about me that are still spreading. Like how Stayle and I didn’t really have a subordination contract but one of slavery contract. “No, it isn’t anything like that or rather they’re reverence...or it’s more like respect.” I’m sorry if I’m making you look too deeply into it, Vice-Captain Clark said as he smiled but somehow I feel like it’s more of a bitter smile that he is showing. “And I want to apologize to the thoughtless remarks that the trainee knight’s thoughtless words and I’m really thankful for making a wise decision over it.” The thoughtless words he meant is when someone said that Stayle should just drop a bomb over the enemies and upon hearing his words, I truly was quite flustered when I heard it. In the first place, such proposals are considered blasphemous towards the members of the Royal Family and even if you exclude Pryde from the game, there are still some nobles who say such crude words. Lastly, I will never allow Stayle to do anything that would hurt others, what more if it’s about taking someone’s life. I will never let him. Though as a member of the royal family, there are times where such things are indeed unavoidable. However, an act where he is to drop over the enemies are actions that will directly take a person’s life. The Pryde from the game has soaked Stayle’s hands with blood from other people other than his mother. That’s why it’s all the more reason for me to be adamant about matters where Stayle is to take someone’s life through the use of his ability. Or so I promised myself. Unlike me, who is the most heinous and heretical person there is, Stayle is a kind-hearted person right from his very core. “It’s true that I was quite...surprised. Once they’ve returned please properly rebuke him later….But well I’m sure the Knight’s Captain has already done that….” I said as I smiled ambiguously. The thunderous angry voice that the Knight’s Captain did back then was amazing. To the point that we, who were over the video screen, had to cover our ears and there were also some knights who weren’t the one being scolded yet they all had pale faces. “No, I am truly sorry for what happened. I will make sure to properly reprimand him.” “Yes, please. I’ll leave it to you and if possible please issue a gag order about Stayle’s special ability...it’s just a small desire of mine but I hope that Stayle’s ability won’t be counted or use as a military might of our country but an ability he can use to protect the people he wants to protect or out of his own will.” After telling him that, the Vice-Captain looked surprised as he looks at me, and then lastly, with a gentle smile he nodded his head and said, “I respectfully obey” … … “Tsk. Don’t joke with me!! Isn’t this different from what they said!!” “Aren’t those Freesia knights...still knights in training and that they don’t have an ample amount of supply!!” At the edge of the cliff, in a concealed position, there lies the ambusher and amongst their ranks, there is a tanned man who gritted his teeth as he saw how his own arrow shatters right before his eyes. He’s the man named, Val. Due to luckily being born as someone with a special ability, strong psyche, and mind he has finally reach a pretty high and stable position within the group. We were able to get by here by concealing ourselves here and by targeting the peddlers who come along this road. We attack, kill, and plunder them of everything they have. Living here while hiding ourselves and conducting surprise attacks from time to time are convenient to do since the area around is easy to use since it is mostly surrounded by cliffs and rubbles and since most people from Freesia Kingdom has a special ability and there’s also a huge chance where you can get lucky to find one and capture them alive. They’ll surely fetch a good price but if it’s people from other countries since they don’t have a special ability it’s easier to abduct them from them or kill them. It was a few days later when that happened. While thinking they were the usual peddlers who pass by we went and did our usual thing but then they suddenly strike up an offer to us and talked about the alliance between the countries involve and their upcoming plan when the joint training between countries begins and how they want to hire us. They paid us a hefty amount in advance and was told that if we succeeded we’ll receive double the amount. We agreed to their offer and ambushed the knights who came from the Freesia Kingdom and captured them. After dropping the boulder and cornering them we all thought that a few of their knights will die but as expected of them, they’re all alive. Now, all we have to do is to continuously attack them, tire them out, and take them as our prisoners while interrogating them for some intel and the newly conscripted knights are the best target. Once we’ve cornered them, we’ll do the same to the others...drop a boulder, tire them out, and make awol. After that, we’ll slip away from there and ally ourselves with the surviving army and while both are in their weakened state, fan the fire further and make sure that both armies will fight to the death. Then whichever country finds the wreckage first can righteously justify amongst themselves that whatever action they’ll take from here is purely for self-defense. It will surely be a scramble. However... We can see from the cliff that their long shield-like wall continues to grow, even right now those bastards from Fressia are striking back at us with no signs of their reserves depleting any time soon. Instead, they seem to be getting more and more vigorous with their attacks, and even amongst our ranks, there is already quite a number of fatalities. How come? We’ve already heard every information we need from the neighboring knights. Even the members of the joint training session and the special abilities of those newbies. There shouldn’t be anyone who can create weapons or stock up huge quantities of it and yet the number of weapons and ammunition those bastards have is unusual. At this rate, it would be us who’ll run out first. Right now we’re on top of the cliffs so we’re still relatively safe and we may have an upper hand right now but our enemies are those monstrous knights composed with special abilities. If they realized that we’ve run out of ammunition they might completely reverse the situation against us. That should never happen!! What should I do? What should I do? What should I do? WHAT SHOULD I DO?! " Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit ‼ ︎ " In his frustration, Val stomped his foot and it was that moment when, *Pa-Kittu* (Eunie: *CRUMBLING SOUND* HOW TO TL AN SFX. LOL) “ pakitu ” He didn’t realize that the ground he was just standing on made a crumbling sound. No one did. That the real tragedy has yet to begin. _________________________ Eunie here: I just read the reviews over NU.
